Description documentfoundation.daniel 2016-03-01 18:17:15 UTC
After installing LibreOffice 5 on Arch Linux, I am able to start Writer. But when I click on any menu, it hangs (the menu never opens).

Then when I ultimately kill LibreOffice and try to restart it, I get a "Restore missing document?" popup-dialog which I cancel and then I get nothing.
No splash, nothing.

After that, it doesn't matter which (LibreOffice) program I try to start, I do not get a splash screen and I can't start the application.
Looking at the list of started processes, I see a lot of "oosplash"-processes that I can kill. But I never see the splash screen again.

LibreOffice 5.1.0.3 10m0(Build:3)

If you want some more info, let me know how to provide it. I'm not 100% sure what is the best way to report relevant system info.

I should add that I'm running XFCE4, xfwm 4.12.3.
Not GNOME and not KDE.

Deleting all the old settings fixed the problem.
You probably want to look into that, but the immediate problem has been solved.
