Description Bob Daniel 2015-05-08 17:37:25 UTC
In a Win7 DOS box, just type any filename e.g.
C:\tmp>e.doc
or
C:\tmp>x.xls
and LibreOffice crashes.
.doc and .xls are associated with LibreOffice of course.

I can confirm crash with LO 4.4.3, win7

No crash when LO is already opened (another file).

Bob,
if possible, please could you follow the instructions provided at this link < https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/How_to_get_a_backtrace_with_WinDbg > and submit a backtrace? That way a developer can look into the underlying reason of the crash. Thank you

Not getting it in 5.1.3.2, can someone else verify if this is gone?
Comment 6 V Stuart Foote 2016-05-22 16:07:30 UTC
With the %PATH% variable correctly edited to include a "C:\Program Files\LibreOffice 5\" entry (directly edting the value with regedit in the "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Environment" )

command line--cmd.exe--launch of each module (swriter, scalc, sdraw, simpress, smath) all launch and open the intended document on Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit en-US (on VMWare workstation 12.1.1)
Version: 5.1.3.2
Build ID: 644e4637d1d8544fd9f56425bd6cec110e49301b
CPU Threads: 1; OS Version: Windows 6.1; UI Render: default;
Locale: en-US (en_US)

with or without OpenGL rendering enabled.

and was also correct on Windows 10 Pro 64-bit en-US with
Version: 5.1.3.2 (x64)
Build ID: 644e4637d1d8544fd9f56425bd6cec110e49301b
CPU Threads: 8; OS Version: Windows 6.19; UI Render: GL;

To Needinfo, but believe we can resolve WFM?

This regression was introduced before branch 4.4, thus it can't be bibisected with the current bibisect repositories. Changing keyword 'notBibisectable' to 'preBibisect'

This was fixed rapidly and has been OK for the last ~6 months.
