Description henri.dugenou 2014-04-25 10:07:00 UTC
Problem description:

Steps to reproduce:
1. open excel file with .xlsm extension (with macro)
2. ....
3. ....

Current behavior:
with 4.2.x release (currently 4.2.3.3)
Calc freeze
I must kill Libreoffice

Expected behavior:
as with 4.1.x (currently 4.1.5.3)
Calc, after a short time opens the file

NB my file is quite big (10M)

Operating System: Ubuntu
Version: 4.2.0.4 release
Last worked in: 4.1.5.3 release

The same file opens correctly under Windows XP (in Virtualbox)
with Libreoffice 4.2.3.3

upload test file under some webhosting site
otherwise it will be hard to debug
Comment 3 henri.dugenou 2014-04-26 13:05:21 UTC
I made some more tests:
1/I remove the macros from the original file and save it as .xlsx
2/This file as big as the first one still cannot be opened with LO4.2.3.3

so it is not the .xlsm format (the presence of macros) which is problematic

so the bug should be: big file (>10M) cannot be opened with LO4.2.x

The file contains confidential data so I cannot share it as is

I have uploaded it in dropbox and can give the share link on demand
Comment 4 henri.dugenou 2014-05-08 16:05:04 UTC
I forced Libreoffice to make a new profile in my home user
The file opened correctly

If I copy my old registrymodifications.xcu in my new profile, the file no more opens

So the bug seems to be resolved by making a new profile

thanks for comments
