presentation in ppt file looks different in Impres than in PowerPoint

I have found presentation that looks different in Impres than in PowerPoint. I deleted all content except of problem in MSOffice2003.
In attachmen is presentation where placed one gif picture. In LibreOffice this picture placed in wrong place. On Linux also looks without transparency (picture inside of black square).
CAUTION to Linux user: if press F5, office hangs.
Produced on LibreOffice 3.4 beta 5 on Mandriva 64 bit and Windows xp 32 bit

I have also found that the presentations that I create in Impress, once exported to PPT, they look different when opened in Powerpoint: usually the text is in a slightly different position, often making it difficult to read or just look misaligned.

The workaround that I have to use when I have to do a presentation in a computer that doesn't have Impress is: always export the presentation to PDF format, and do my presentations using Acrobat Reader instead of Powerpoint.

However, this is just a workaround. Ideally, the PPT export should produce a file that looked exactly the same in Impress as in Powerpoint.

This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back
to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases.
Details on how to test the 3.5.0 beta1 can be found at:

Simple example of arrows not importing correcting from powerpoint into LO

I run into lots of these problems and will try to post examples as I find them, if that is useful.

Thanks for attachment, it demonstrates Windows specific bug, wrong direction arrow

Useful! But for different problem in presentation should be different bugreports. For example this bugreport is about problem with GIF picture. And for wrong direction of arrow should be separate bugreport. And so on.

Thanks again for help in bug hunting!
Comment 8 A (Andy) 2013-04-23 20:05:29 UTC
reproducible with LO 4.0.2.2 (Win7 Home, 64bit)

Result: differences between MSO 2007 and LO: bird is mirrored and has a different animation speed
Comment 9 A (Andy) 2013-04-23 20:08:26 UTC
addition: bird in the left slide preview is correct, but in the main slide edit area totally displaced (really strange)
Comment 10 ign_christian 2013-05-10 07:18:51 UTC
reproducible with LO 4.0.3.3 (Win 7 Home Premium 32bit) & LO 3.6.6.2 (Ubuntu 12.04.2 LTS)
