Attachments: Transition Powerpoint vs. Impress

Description Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) 2016-02-20 22:18:18 UTC
Impress allows a user to select either 'on mouse click' or 'automatically after' for advancing to the next slide with radio buttons, while Powerpoint gives users to do either with checkboxes, so if 'on mouse click' is unchecked then it wont allow a user to left click to switch to the following slide.

Is this a feature that we want to implement and improve compatibility with MS Office?

I think this is a good idea, Jay.

Transition Powerpoint vs. Impress

Using radio buttons, as today, is actually wrong since you can click through the presentation even when it's not checked. This wouldn't change with just a checkbox, though.
PowerPoint does it right and ignores the left click in automatic mode unless the mouse option is also checked. You can still advance with the context menu (right click > next) or per cursor right key.
