Description Yousuf Philips (jay) (retired) 2014-06-25 04:03:08 UTC
In order to find out information about an embedded image, you have to open up the 'compress graphic' entry in the right-click menu of an image. I think a more suitable place for this information would be in the picture tab of the picture dialog or an 'image information' entry in the right-click menu.

Sounds like a good one.

Judging from the comment on the patch, this info does not sound correct
"sorry for this late comment but the dedicated dialog for image information wasnt a suitable concept and the information should be added to the image tab of the image dialog, as that wouldnt require an addition entry in the menus and all settings and information would be in one place."

Putting the ticket on advice status, until UX team decides what they actually want.

The information was correct, but two choices were given and the dev chose the less useful choice. The description did mention "I think a more suitable place for this information would be in the picture tab of the picture dialog ...". Of course the picture dialog and picture tab have been renamed.

You forgot to add ux-advise.

@Heiko, @Stuart: you guys have a take on this?

I suggested somewhere else (bug 101193) to introduce a "properties" dialog with all object related information. In case of an image it could show another tab with just the meta data. Otherwise, yes, no new dialog.

Right, those details about an image are not exposed anywhere else but the Compress dialog.

Like Heiko in bug 101193 I think including it on an appropriate tab in a "properties" dialog (the Image dialog in this case) would make the most sense.

An attempt to fix this was previously submitted and abandoned.
