The information was correct, but two choices were given and the dev chose the less useful choice. The description did mention "I think a more suitable place for this information would be in the picture tab of the picture dialog ...". I suggested somewhere else (bug 101193) to introduce a "properties" dialog with all object related information. In case of an image it could show another tab with just the meta data. Right, those details about an image are not exposed anywhere else but the Compress dialog. Like Heiko in bug 101193 I think including it on an appropriate tab in a "properties" dialog (the Image dialog in this case) would make the most sense.
