Description e1580686 2014-03-05 07:31:18 UTC
Problem description:
Libreoffice hangs with a high cpu usage while opening the file in .pptx and .ppt.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a presentation with MSOffice 2007.(My ppts have MS office predefined slide design and mostly text)
2. Save it as .pptx or .ppt
3. Try to open in libreoffice 4.2.x.x
4. It gets stuck at almost 25-30% as per the progress bar and stays there.
5. CPU usage on windows XP 32-bit and windows 7 32-bit was seen to be at 25-30% on
    a. quad core i3@2.3GHz and 4GB RAM DDR3 system.
    b. dual core intel pentium@1.86GHz and 2GB DDR2 RAM

Current behavior:
same as described above.

Expected behavior:
Should open the pptx and ppt files as in libreoffice 4.1.4.2 and 4.1.5.3

Operating System: Windows XP
Version: 4.2.0.4 release
Last worked in: 4.1.4.2 release

Any progress on resolving this issue?
Comment 5 Julien Nabet 2014-04-01 19:47:56 UTC
With master sources (future 4.3.0) updated today, I can now open the file.
You can give it a try by using this:
http://dev-builds.libreoffice.org/daily/master/
Of course it's development version not production version.
