This is a very worthwhile improvement IMO. The citation (bibliography entry) details shown in the Word screenshot says it all. Status set to NEW. Fabian should this be an enhancement? Created attachment 92844 [details]

An alternative solution that might be useful in case one uses a lot of cited works is a searchable list: http://gigapple.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/pages-inserting-citation.jpg?w=590&h=483 Well, it's not "broken", so I'd say it counts as an enhancement. I also suggested this bug to be addressed during the FOSDEM UX hackfest: https://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Hackfest/FOSDEM2014#Ideas I'm a bit opposed to having it show exactly as in Word, as I often work with documents that have tens and tens of references (quite usual in academia, I suppose) and if each entry in the list would span 2+ rows, it would make it difficult to handle.
