@Rob, I think this enhancement is introduced somewhere between 3.5 and 3.6... tested with 3.6.4.3 on Ubuntu 12.10 x64 and the feature do exist (also in latest 4.1 branch)... So -> RESOLVED -> FIXED Created attachment 72777 [details]

Oh ok, I see. Steps to reproduce: * Open new writer document * Insert -> Hyperlink * Set a target URL (example: http://www.libreoffice.org) * Form = Button * Type something in 'text' * Type something in 'name' * Apply and close Current behavior: a hyperlink button is created (=good). But clicking (ctrl+click) doesn't open the link you just created. You can only select the hyperlink. Once you saved and reopen the document, you ONLY can click on the hyperlink and you'll be forwarded to the website (clicking on it, or ctrl+click)... You can't select the button anymore. Sorry to close this one to fast. Workaround: Make sure the Form Design toolbar is available (View > Toolbars > Form Design). Turn Design Mode On. Select button. Double-click to edit properties (Action and URL fields). Sorry to say that but this is uber wrong behavior. When you edit a text or a presentation, 99.999% of the time, when you click an hyperlink (simple left click) you expect to edit the hyperlink, not visit the website or document linked (thus loosing you editing context). I would suggest : left click : select hyperlink right click : context menu allowing to edit hyperlink ctrl + click : visit the damn document / link Anything else is insane and is driving people nuts (for long I expect) For a simple and expected behavior, look at what ckeditor does for example. I hope you'll be able to fix this. Thanks! Looks like there was some confusion in this report around this functionality originally. The confusion arises from the fact that when you create a hyperlink as button, you are in form design mode. Yet, if you do not happen to have the Form design toolbar open, you might never realise it. When you exit the design mode, the button can be clicked (no need for Ctrl as it is a button after all). |
