Excel offers a nice feature that I'd also like to see in Calc: The possibility to have the edges of objects (such as pictures) automatically snap to the nearest cell boundary while moving the object. (In Excel, this happens when you hold the "Alt" key while moving.)

Workaround: use "Snap to grid" in settings and set for grid the same size as for cells.

Sounds like a handy feature enhancement. As I've not yet tested the Calc image enhancement from bug 98931 by Samuel Mehrbrodt (CIB), I add him to the CC list. Maybe he's interested.
