I believe this could be a great usability improvement in LibreOffice Impress.

The cut&paste experience in OOo/LO could be greatly enhanced, if it would be possible to drag object to the margins of the application window and drop it there. If one would like to use this snippet again, it could be just possible to draw it back into the document and drop it there. As it is alway easier to explain something with pictures, please see attached images. 

The first image is a mockup, how it could look like in Impress. The second picture is a photo of an old Apple Newton Messagepad which had this great feature. And indeed, it was a very handy feature in the Newton Messagepad. Thank you very much for considering this idea!

This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it
started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is
changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back

This enhancement is still valid in current versions of LibreOffice
