OK, I just realized that instead of zero thickness you can use zero length by choosing the line to be 0 % of the page with, so this is not that important after all, just a change on behaviour. [This is an automated message.] This bug was filed before the changes to Bugzilla on 2011-10-16. Thus it started right out as NEW without ever being explicitly confirmed. The bug is changed to state NEEDINFO for this reason. To move this bug from NEEDINFO back to NEW please check if the bug still persists with the 3.5.0 beta1 or beta2 prereleases. I have now been able to test this with v4.0.2.2 under Ubuntu 10.04 x86_64, MacOS 10.6.8, and Win7HP. All platforms exhibit the behaviour as described in comments #0 and #1. Can this bug therefore be closed? It is really just the workflow / behaviour that is different and requires learning. *** Bug 50605 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** In Format -> Page -> Footnote tab, the Style drop-down has an option for None which does not work. I know this bug was originally reported to achieve the effect of no separator line but there should be a minimum size for the thickness of the line. Ideally, Style should appear above Position in the dialogue because the first option should be whether or not you want a line. If the option for None is chosen then the other fields should be disabled.
