hi,

Importing a template should be automatic.
When a new *.ott file arrives in a template directory,
it should be available as a template...

Why?
Cause in the opposite case, an avalanche of obscure things are due to come about... including that you base your project on a template...
and weeks later you realize that it's actually not this-projects-template.ott
but "base-24-A5-1.ott", for example...
which was automatically produced as you saved your template as another template...

Having to import templates is a very rudimentary concept...
When an *.ott file is present in the template directory,
it should be recognized... and treated as a template...

-------------------
+1 SUGGESTION (plausible enough):

When a template have been preset in the template directory,
once it is gone, it should be somehow noticeable...

There could be a template junk yard...
or parking lot...

where copies of the templates would be saved...

------------------
+1 suggestion:
NAVIGATOR could have a template organizer function, too...

or maybe the document center (star up center) could have that...

and the usage of templates would also be recorded and readable here...
among other things...

This should happen automatically. Can you please give more details?
Are you maybe having the sub-folder issue described in bug 99802?

I comment on the other ideas, but please let's keep at 1 issue per report.

Unsure what the idea is here. There already is bug 138877, which I think is the most important aspect.

Navigator is for elements in the document, not sure what the idea is here.

> or maybe the document center (star up center) could have that...
The Start Center already lists the templates, but in my opinion, it's true it could integrate more functionalities, or at least make it easier to open the Template Manager.
