Description Theppitak Karoonboonyanan 2024-01-24 04:15:54 UTC
Description:
What suggested in Tip of the Day 35/225 cannot be followed:

"Want to keep a part of an editable document as read-only? Insert ▸ Section. "
"Add text to the section, then right-click “Edit Section” and check “Protect”."

There is no "Edit Section" entry in the context menu. Rather, checking "Protect"
in the "Add Section" dialog is now on the way and straightforward.

Possible text (adjustments are welcome):

"Want to keep a part of an editable document as read-only? Insert ▸ Section, "
"with “Protect” checked. Then you can start adding text to the section."

Steps to Reproduce:
1.Help > Show Tip of the Day
2.Click "Next Tip" to skip to Tip 35/225

Actual Results:
Shows a tip that cannot be followed.

Expected Results:
Shows a tip that can be followed.

Reproducible: Always

I can see "Edit section..." in the context menu when right-clicking inside the section:

Version: 24.2.0.2 (X86_64) / LibreOffice Community

Can also be done in the Navigator: right-click > Edit...

Can you please test again, or provide more details?

That wouldn't work, as the section wouldn't accept edits.

Ah, yes, I can now find it, too. I must have right-clicked on the wrong
paragraph when trying. (It must be the empty paragraph after the inserted
section!)

So, the tip is already correct. Sorry for the false alarm.

> Can also be done in the Navigator: right-click > Edit...

Yes, I found this alternative, too. Just thought it took too many steps.

> Can you please test again, or provide more details?

Please close this bug as not-a-bug. Thanks.

OK. It seems to be for a section with external contents. Also my wrong
suggestion.
