Description Gabor Kelemen (allotropia) 2024-01-22 10:19:14 UTC
This is a followup to bug 159254

In Word it is possible to select / set paper tray for the first page and the other pages.
In Writer there is only a single dropdown to select the paper tray of the printer, which may cause some inconvenience if someone wants to print the first page from a different tray than the rest.

Adding another dropdown to the Page Style - Page tab would be helpful for better interoperability.

Why not define a page style for the first page (with printer settings) and another for the other pages then?

That can work too, even a simpler solution.

I think using page styles is the cleaner and flexible solution. If you define two printers or trays you probably need to show on the print dialog. And then why not have dedicated settings for the last page, for colored pages vs. b/w, etc. We should not copy all failures Microsoft made in the past ;-).
