Example for testing wrap on date

Open attached document. It has dates in column A. The color is set with conditional formatting. Column B and C are hidden and contain calculations for the condition, but that is not relevant here.

Drag the column A smaller. Notice, that for cells with conditional format, the date wraps to two lines, whereas for cells without conditional format the date does not wrap.

This is inconsistent.

I repro, but is it useful to keep this open instead of commenting about this exceptional behaviour in bug 40685?

I was able to reproduce the same behavior in
