It might need a clarification, that the line break only applies to one of the list of "To access this command..." in the article. However, it is not "an option not found in the software" - it is in the Chapter Numbering. Ah, I see now. Thank you for the clarification. I think this might be related to a bigger problem, the total conflation of chapter numbering with list numbering, when the former has options not associated with the latter. For example, I searched in the online help for "chapter" in module Writer. One of the matches was "changing -- chapter levels" which I then clicked on, while pulled up this: https://help.libreoffice.org/latest/en-US/text/swriter/guide/insert_tab_innumbering.html?DbPAR=WRITER#bm_id3145078. There it says "To insert a tab between the number or bullet and the paragraph text for all list paragraphs at a given list level, use the Numbering followed by option in the Position tab in the Bullets and Numbering dialog." So I tried it by setting the style to Heading 1, and then pulled up the Position Tab in the Bullets and Numbering dialog as indicated. Because this is the standard Bullets and Numbering dialog and not the special Chapter Numbering one, "line break" is not an option for "Numbering followed by", despite the fact that I am trying to set the Numbering options for a chapter heading style, and followed a link in the help that came up when I searched for "chapter"! I'm not sure if this is best characterized as a documentation problem or an UI problem or both. Certainly, though, if I'm hitting a link in the help that is supposed to talk about chapter numbering, it should lead me to the options that pertain to chapter numbering specifically, especially if they're different than the options for regular list numbering. |
