The style modification dialog that opens from the Stylist at the sidebar does have apply/reset functions. If you change the paragraph style directly (right click in the document) it is still direct formatting and affects only this particular paragraph. My take: WF. See also bug 130264 and bug 130261. I did not notice that it had kerning in that panel. At least there is a workable way to do it. Since people use the multiple mechanisms provided to do direct formatting, my suggestion would still be an improvement to the software. I will try to remember to use the style panel in the meantime. Thanks Hieko, in general, I prefer to close bugs, not to open a new one, but in this case, I would prefer to have an "Apply" on these 2 windows: Character and Paragraph. I use a lot those windows and I also miss this button. Could you please add this on the next Design meeting list? (In reply to BogdanB from comment #3) > ...I would prefer to have an "Apply" Searching for "Apply Paragraph" returns 50 results, bug 89028 pointing to 37336 for example. But what about my comment 1 (apply on style changes but not direct formatting)? If you think this view is wrong feel free to add needsUXEval and I route it through the process. For long documents I use styles, but for small documents I work faster with right click and use Character and Paragraph options. So, in my opinion, I would close this bug as a duplicate for tdf#89028. If you need 20 changes in 5 minutes, you need to see how the text will look like, so it is annoying to click Ok, and the text is not ok, and again change, press Ok, the text is not ok...
