Description Peter Mandrella 2022-05-05 09:14:33 UTC
Description:
Feature request: Improve readability of longer texts - spanning multiple cells - by (optionally) hiding the grid lines that would cut trough the text.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Disable the text overflow markers in Calc display settings.
2. Enter a text into a cell that overflows to the next cell.

Actual Results:
Grid lines between the cells cut through the text.

Expected Results:
Hide those grid lines.

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: No

Additional Info:
This is the sole feature of good old Quattro Pro that I am missing with LibreOffice. Nice looking and readable long texts.

As a workaround, those cells can be manually combinend. But that's lot of additional action in spreadsheeds with many and/or volatile texts. Dynamically hiding the intersecting grid lines is much easier to use.
