Description:
 want to record some actions(keystrokes, mouse actions) and assign this macro immediately to a shortcut key.

Something to quickly apply to the current document and then discard.


Something like Ctl-R<enter events="">Ctl-R and then CtlShiftR replays the events. 





Steps to Reproduce:
1.<Ctl Somekey> to start recording 
2.Dialog confirming
3.Confirm
4.System records keystrokes, mouse gestures
4 <Ctl same-key to toggle off> 
5.Shft-Control<key> to replay recorded event


Actual Results:
N/A

Expected Results:
As given

Stephen, I don't know anything about macros, but there seem to be an experimental feature about macro recording (see bug 64314). Please have a look at this.

No that looks to be a different issue. 

This is a request for a new feature: a single user event to begin recording a macro and a single user event to stop recording then a single user event to replay the macro.

All this without any other user interaction. The macro is stored in temporary space.

Nice to have is some feature to request saving the macro to the macro database under a default name (eg. timestamp) or a name of the user's choice.
