Bug 121224

Summary: LibreOffice Formula Editor: formulas render with overlapping elements
Product: LibreOffice Reporter: redirect303
Component: Formula EditorAssignee: Not Assigned <libreoffice-bugs>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE
Severity: normal CC: xiscofauli
Priority: medium
Version: 6.1.3.2 release
Hardware: x86-64 (AMD64)
OS: Windows (All)

Crash report or crash signature: Regression By:

Description redirect303 2018-11-06 22:46:17 UTC
Description:
Equations and formulas are rendered with elements overlapping. Changing font type or font size results in the formula to be arranged properly, but the result is inconsistent. Sometimes, it won't have any effect.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open Math and try writing a formula (equation). It may display properly, or it might look cramped. Try editing it or make it more complex, until it displays wrong.(should happen from the beginning, but sometimes it just does it right in spite)

2. go to Format -> Font, or Format -> Font Size and change the font or the value. This should render the formula correctly. Again, it doesn't have effect sometimes. I had to insist.

3. get angry and break your computer.

Actual Results:
equation where one can't distinguish terms (the symbols, terms, are all overlapping)

Expected Results:
a clearly rendered math equation

Reproducible: Always

User Profile Reset: Yes

OpenGL enabled: Yes

Additional Info:
I tried resetting my user profile, disabling HW Acceleration, nothing brings a fix to the issue.

Which formula fonts do you use? I can't reproduce this bug with default fonts, changing size is OK

Tried for

In my case it does the same with all fonts, including the Libre office default font (Liberation Serif, I think is named).
I downloaded and tested WPS Office, to make sure that other document editors are performing okay and I can confirm in WPS the equations were displayed correctly.
