Don't see the point of bundling more fonts. There would be utility to this assuming IBM continues development of Plex under SIL OFL as it is "released" next year. The posted sample in Latin (~580 glyphs) are well crafted. Wider coverage of Unicode scripts not well supported by a consistent set of font designs (Mono, Serif, San serif) with consistent metrics would benefit the LO community. But, probably no need to bundle the font--though very fertile ground for a LO supported extension. It is definitely worth considering at a later date when it has a wider unicode coverage and if its size hasnt grown to large. But this is their brand font. It could mislead people into thinking that this project has received IBM support/sponsoring (it has never). The IBM Plex font is a great font for LO. If you’re planning on adding the font to your blog, make sure to do a little prep work first. When you’re designing your LO, make sure to use a size that’s a little larger than your normal font size. You can check https://www.edugeeksclub.com/blog/top-5-trusted-review-websites-help-choose/ and get here new tips about the study. Then, go ahead and copy and paste the IBM Plex font into your LO. Now that you have it inserted, you’re going to want to make sure to go ahead and hit Apply Styles to ensure that your text stays readable. |
