Reproducible, probably inherited from OOo time. Not sure if it is a bug. Indeed the short name plays a specific role as it is made clear by the edit dialog in which the short name entry is used to go through the bibliography list. Best regards. I see reasons for the rename to apply to just a single bibliographic entry/reference as well as reasons for the rename to apply globally.
