Would it be possible to add 'Formats only' to the list of direct items available on the Paste Special menu, please? I find that this is a frequently needed operation and having it available without having to go via the 'Edit > Paste Special > Paste Special ...' dialog would be a real time saver.

While you're in the Paste Special menu, the item 'Paste Only Formula' should plural, i.e. 'Formulae', like the 'Paste Only Numbers' item.

Many thanks for considering this proposal.

You have the clone formatting for that.

Doesn't work for transferring from one window to another, even if both windows are view of the same workbook.

Right doesn't work between windows or files.

Thank you both.
Let's mark as duplicate of bug 86805 then, as that would be the preferred / most natural way to copy format across.
